Job Overview:

Prove your ability to lead junior technicians and apply project management skills while working within a team. Use experience and technical skills to manage and install servers, routers, switches, and wireless access points. A Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years relevant experience are required for the Systems Administrator position.

Initial Responsibilities:

  • Install new software releases and system upgrades
  • Evaluate and install patches
  • Resolve software related problems
  • Perform system backups and recovery
  • Maintain NTFS security
  • Monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity
  • Document software configuration and dependencies
  • Manage and install servers, routers, switches, and wireless access points
  • Monitor system performance
  • Escalate issues as warranted
  • Provide day-to-day customer support related to end-user requests requiring server changes
  • Perform root-cause analysis, develop solutions with team members, and assist or oversee remediation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop technical issues as Tier 3 troubleshooter
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues
  • Assist users with setting up their personal mobile devices to enhance their network experiences
  • Update requests in the service desk application including customer contact information, work logs, and knowledge database
  • Approve WSUS patches
  • Hardware warranty maintenance: replace failing or damaged parts
  • Conduct routine server & network device maintenance
  • Complete other tasks, as needed

Minimum Requirements for Consideration:

  • 5 years experience supporting technology, with 2 years supporting customer/server software
  • Love of technology
  • Skill to lead junior technicians
  • Desire to study and learn, earning professional certifications throughout your tenure
  • Work under a matrix supervision system and within team environment
  • Flexible in adjusting schedule and approach to meet changing customer needs
  • Physically able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladder, crawl under desks and in tight spaces
  • Capable of traveling to local customer sites in and around Fort Worth, TX, using personal vehicle (technical employees receive monthly stipends for cell phone and mileage expenses)
  • Understand the commute to the office occurs during morning and afternoon traffic
  • United States Citizen or US National
  • Able to accept full-time, permanent employment (this is not a contract position)
  • Bachelor’s degree required, not major-specific

Technical Skill Requirements for Consideration:

  • Skill in acquiring and maintaining certifications in relevant technologies
  • Select and assemble hardware, install servers, switches, and wireless access points
  • VoIP experience is a plus
  • Install, configure, and operate Windows 2003-2019, including all roles and features
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, desktop and server
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook and Word)
  • Mastery with group policy, active directory, DNS, DHCP, RDS, and PowerShell
  • Experience with network topology, TCP/IP, switches, and router
  • Experience with wireless connectivity and security, including laptops and mobile devices
  • Experience using the 7 layer OSI model to troubleshoot issues
  • Obtain Non-Technical Certifications in relevant skills
